The St. Louis Battlehawks held a virtual press conference last week. The press conference was held Wednesday via Zoom with coach Anthony Becht during XFL Training Camp.
Becht had some initial remarks before accepting questions during the session.
“Camp is going extremely well,” Becht said. “We are utilizing every player on our roster to give them an opportunity to showcase their skill set in every practice.”
Becht stated that he is not prepared to set a depth chart at this time.
“We want to make sure we have equal reps across the board to get guys to kinda showcase,” Becht said.
Becht reported that they have not had any injuries during training camp to date.
“A couple of guys are bruised and banged,” he noted. “But as far as the core players, we look pretty good.”
Regarding coaching a new team, Becht noted the difficulty involved with the process while preparing them for the 2023 season.
“It is extremely difficult,” he said. “Clearly, we want to try to install a lot and put a lot on their shoulders, both offensively and defensively.”
Other questions involve quarterback A.J. McCarron, activities outside of training camp, and some other remarks relating to the offensive and defensive squads.
The Battlehawks will be holding a pair of press conferences this week.
