NORMAL, Ill. — Illinois State women’s soccer coach Raleigh DeRose announced Friday the addition of three transfer students for the 2025 campaign. The 2025 season marks DeRose’s second season with the Redbirds.

Elyse DeSchryver is a graduate student joining Illinois State by way of Big Ten Conference foe Northwestern University. Before joining the Wildcats, she was a third-team all-state selection as a high school sophomore and a first-team all-state selection as a junior for Forest Hills Northern High School in Grand Rapids, Mich.
DeSchryver helped her team to district and regional championships for three consecutive seasons, scoring 57 goals over her high school career. Two of her five appearances for Northwestern were at Adelaide Street Field against Illinois State in 2021 and 2024.
Rylie Monahan will be joining as a sophomore after spending her freshman year at Texas Christian University (TCU). Mohahan’s addition will add even more California flair to the roster, joining Kaya Durkee and Sophia Carbone among the California delegation on the squad.
The change of venue to Illinois State comes after Monahan appeared in only one match with the Horned Frogs this past season, playing six minutes in a 6-1 win over 14th-ranked Colorado.
Outside of collegiate soccer, Monahan played club soccer for nationally-ranked San Diego Surf and Slammers FC HB Køge in the Elite Clubs National League, which is a youth league.
Ella Rentz comes to Normal from DePaul University after not seeing any action on the pitch this past season for the Blue Demons. On the club side, Rentz played for the United Women’s Soccer side Michigan Jaguars FC.
DeSchryver, Monahan, and Rentz join signings from National Signing Day, which include Durkee, Carbone, Delia Garcia, Brooklyn Harding, Rylann Law, Sofia Mammoliti, Ashley Molinari, and Grace Petrie.
