Breakdown of the 2024 UFL schedule

ARLINGTON, Tex. — The United Football League announced the schedule for its inaugural season on February 5. 

There will be a total of 43 league games in the 2024 season. They include 40 regular-season games, the USFL and XFL Conference Championship games, and the UFL Championship game.

The League is divided into two conferences representing the two leagues that merged to form the UFL: the USFL Conference and the XFL Conference.

The USFL Conference comprises the 2023 USFL champion Birmingham Stallions, Memphis Showboats, Michigan Panthers, and Houston Roughnecks. To avoid any confusion, the Houston Roughnecks are an agreed-upon merger of the USFL’s Houston Gamblers and the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks. Essentially, it is the Gamblers’ player personnel and coaches with the well-known social media powerhouse of the Houston Roughnecks.

The XFL Conference comprises the 2023 XFL champion Arlington Renegades, D.C. Defenders, San Antonio Brahmas, and the St. Louis Battlehawks.

Game and broadcast schedule

Each team will play ten regular season games, with six conference games and four inter-conference games. Using the example of the St. Louis Battlehawks, they will play six games within the XFL Conference and four games against the USFL Conference, such as its season opener on March 30 against the Michigan Panthers.

All league games will be broadcast on the Disney family of networks (ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2) as well as FOX and Fox Sports 1. Games will also be streamed on ESPN+ (for all Disney-owned network broadcasts) and the Fox Sports app (for all Fox Corporation-owned network broadcasts). All games will be streamable through the watchTVeverywhere app.

72 percent of the broadcasts will be broadcast on network television, with FOX airing 21 games and ABC airing 10 games. ESPN will carry 10 games, and one game apiece will air on ESPN2 and Fox Sports 1.
